Small kindred formed fall 2003. We are a small kindred, affiliated with the Riverwood Fellowship, and the Northlands Tribe. Individual members are affiliated with The Troth (I'm the Illinois Steward), the AFA, the AA, and the Odinic Rite. We are a NON-racist kindred, focused on honoring the Holy Elder Kin, with a special empahsis on UllR. I have been actively heathen for about 10 years, and we've been holding social events for heathens in Northern Illinois for a couple of years. Formed: January, 1997 with 150 members as of 3/2006. The Raven Wolf Tribal Alliance is organized along ancient tribal lines under the direction of a Tribal Chieftain and a Council of Three. We currently have over 15 official kindreds with additional provisional kindreds and many individual members with no kindred affiliation. We are dedicated to prison ministry and most of our members have been in prison, are currently in prison, or are family members and friends of prisoners. We are highly Folkish and extremely traditional. We publish our own materials which are also available to the public and include a Handbook,a Gothi Manual,a Chieftains Manual,a Directory,and several other publications as well as the tribal magazine entitled "Branches". The RWTA holds a yearly Althing where laws are made and ammended and the Folk gather to enjoy several days of ancestral traditions, which include wearing Viking era clothing, participating in Blots, Feasts and Sumbels, Viking tent camping, Viking era games and contests, childrens activities, workshops and educational sessions. We also run an Arts & Sciences Competition as well as a Bardic Competition at the Althing, where prizes are given for achievement. We currently have approximately 150 members which include men, women and children. At this time, we are experiencing extreme growth and the possibility exists that we may double our membership within the next few years. We encourage those who agree with our philosophy to contact us and ask for additional information - especially those individuals who are interested in prison ministry or who are currently in prison or who have recently been released from prison.

Though our numbers are small any who wish to join us have tests to pass which we think are easy: above all honor the Aesir and Vanir and then observe both the nine-fold laws and six-fold goals. Our kindred expects and observes true kinship. Thus we need to ensure that any who join us permanently must be able and willing to follow the paths of the above tests. Kinsman come and kinsman go, but the gods go on forever. We observe regular blots. Our members are considered as true family even though there might not be blood ties. We are constantly trying to increase our knowledge of the gods and the old ways. We try to live by the "WWOD" (what would Odin Do" philosophy.

Hi, Solitary Asatru on the Eastside. In worldview lean to the modern (but won't deny that swordsmanship might come in handy one day), and towards soft-folkish in matters of blood. Formed in 1997, with 3 members as of 1/99. Our Kindred was founded two years ago in Tisvilde Denmark by Halvdan Harðhugaðr and his young cousin, Thorolf. It began as a way of teaching the young Thorolf about the ways of our ancestors, their worship, their history, and even some of their magic. The more the two spoke of it, the greater their faith grew until there was no question in Halvdan's mind that his cousin was truely Asatru. He was even more impressed that Thorolf spoke out about his new found religion. Halvdan had thought himself alone in his family, an outcast, being the only Heathen among them. You can only imagine the joy he felt when he found out about his cousin's true faith. Halvdan had to return home to Washington D.C., but vowed to keep sacred the Thing, which they untraditionally celebrate during the summer since that is the only time available to them. Halvdan is currently trying to establish the Kindred in Washington, but have a bit of trouble. That's the whole reason for this web page.
